Phineas P. Gage, July 1823 – May 21, 1860. Historical one-eyed candy and perennial Psych 101 topic, Gage was a railroad man who lost his left peeper and part of his brain in a freak accident with a tamping iron (pictured.) The accident, by popular account, transformed the once well-mannered and responsible Gage into a drunken braggart and vagabond. Who can resist a totally mental hobo babe?
